Empowered Minds aims to provide academic support to students in a therapeutic setting while developing life skills through enrichment, experiential learning, job experience, and community service.

Empowered Minds was developed based on various peer-reviewed, research-based studies and best practices to address critical components of school success, including life skills, executive functioning, and social-emotional learning.

We serve middle & high school students with the highest need based on dropout risk, truancy rates, and credit deficiencies; homeschooled students needing academic & social support; students facing suspension & expulsion. Our sessions are from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on school days following the TCSD calendar at Van Vleck Flex Space and place-based learning throughout the community.

Our Goals

  1. Ensure students complete their individual curriculum for credits.
  2. Provide individualized supplemental curriculum where needed.
  3. Create engaging therapeutic & life skills learning groups, building a healthy foundation

  5. Assist students in acquiring & maintaining employment or community service positions.
