Family Advocate Program

The Family Advocate Program helps families at risk of child abuse or neglect to stabilize and gain control of their lives.

Because of the Family Advocate Program, over 400 parents or guardians at risk of abuse and/or neglect in Wyoming were able to build new skills and never abuse their children.

What is the Family Advocate Program?

The Family Advocate Program is a prevention system that TYFS has put into place to help provide families with tools to break the cycle of abuse or neglect. Referrals to the Family Advocate Program occur through the Teton County School District, Jackson Community Counseling Center, Public Health, Community Safety Network, and the Department of Family Services.

As a critical service within the community's continuum of care, the Family Advocate Project supports various programs in the community to correct the problem at hand using individualized and family therapy systems. Serving one family costs about $3,580 per year, a fraction of the cost of private practice therapy.

Continuum of Care

We always start with the least restrictive care and, if necessary, move on to more involved intervention.
