Teen Power acts as a broker, connecting community members looking for help with youth looking to work. In addition to job connections we will meet weekly with students during the school year to promote work and social skills and engage in specific training’s to prepare students for the workforce.
Research has shown that youth feeling connected to and valued by their community creates teenagers who are less likely to engage in risky behaviors and grow up to be healthy, caring and responsible individuals. The purpose of Teen Power is to create well rounded, future focused, self-assured teens through job and community service experiences.
Teen Power will complete its purpose by:
- Building community by creating a sense of belonging.
- Enhance confidence through learned skills and experiences.
- Promote career and college readiness through job and internship opportunities.
Weekly after-school programming is open to all middle school students.
